Summary:
The TEC Internship and Career Exploration Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the career experiences of high school juniors, seniors and college students through the development of appropriate internship opportunities.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Develops, facilitates, and presents information sessions to interested students and familiesMaintains and regularly updates the Career Exploration web pagesFacilitates weekly office collaboration sessions with Career Exploration staff membersReviews internship applicationsMaintains an open and direct dialogue with interns, their parents and all mentor contactsContinues to research and recruit new business relationships to obtain internship placement sites aligned with student and parent requestsAdvocates for the most meaningful and appropriate placement of assigned internsCultivates long term relationships with mentorsMaintains regular email communication with all internsGuides students to create professional resumes, develop interview skills, and demonstrate professional business behaviorEnsures that all interns complete and communicate progress of required journals Maintains database for all students and mentors, as it applies to assigned internshipsUtilizes Filemaker Pro database to facilitate the entire internship experienceSupervises Career Exploration staffDevelops and maintains Career Exploration budgetExpresses all concerns in a timely fashion to the Director of Professional Learning and LeadershipOffers College Fairs for prospective studentsDirects all event planning elements for the district hosts of the semi-annual College FairsRecruits colleges and university representatives to attend Facilitates Higher Ed Job Alike monthly meetings with school counselors regarding pertinent and timely topics.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
